A LETTER FROM MARIA
Dear Friends and fellow Framinghammers,
Hello and welcome to our team! I'm so glad you're here.
Although I hope to have the pleasure of meeting each and every one of you in person, I wanted you have a place where you can hear about my life directly from me.
First, I want you to know about my family. I love my family -- so much so that just last year, my parents left their home in Pennsylvania of 30+ years and came to Framingham to move in with my husband, our children, and our dog. My family faces many of the same issues so many Framingham residents do: We have young children in Hemenway and Walsh and need to budget generously for childcare, not to mention activities. My parents are figuring out how they can comfortably live in retirement without fear of a medical emergency wiping them out. We worry about our mortgage and the car payments, all while having six mouths to feed. We've faced extended family falling prey to the opioid crisis and other addictions. Yet we just want what everyone wants -- to live in comfort and without fear.
Unfortunately, not everyone in Framingham is able to do that, and that's why I'm running for State Representative. I don't want anyone in Framingham to feel alone or unsafe or desperate because of their financial situation or because they are the target of discrimination or harassment. I want to help make change so the people of Framingham can live, work (then retire!), learn, and play together in good health without worry or stress.
I've spent my career fighting for clean, advanced energy across the country. Now I want to take that same energy to Beacon Hill to work for you. I promise to always listen and collaborate to ensure that Framingham's needs are represented and fulfilled. Together, I truly believe we can make a difference.
Thank you, Framingham, for all you've given me and my family. We chose Framingham (like the signs said); I hope you will give me the opportunity to give back to all of you.
